Nivea Pop Ball Grapefruit & Maracuja Lipbalm

Isn’t this Nivea Pop Ball Lipbalm the cutest?

They remind me of EOS lipbalms, the folks who made the spherical lipbalm packaging popular, but I didn’t enjoy their formula and I’ve tried a bunch of flavours before. I do however, like Nivea lipbalms and use the normal stick tube type quite regularly. So of course I had to grab a cute round one when I saw it at Watsons. This comes in 3 different flavours and mine is in Grapefruit & Maracuja. There’s also Pink Watermelon & Pomegranate and Raspberry & Red Apple.

These balms are colourless and just leaves a slight gloss on the lips. The formula feels similar to their regular stick balm and is comfortable enough on me. It is not super moisturising but does help keep my lips soft. Mine has a light grapefruit scent that is not offensive and dissipates fairly quick.

Overall, a pretty decent lipbalm in cute packaging. And I am a sucker for cute and anything coral or pink!

Each retails for RM19.90 at Watsons Pharmacy Malaysia but I got mine on sale at RM16.90.

Have you seen or tried these? Which one did you pick up?

MOTD: Light and Airy Peachy Pink

Are you a fan of peachy-pink makeup? I love these light and airy tones!

♥ Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow – Another foundation product I dug out recently. I like the sheer to light medium coverage this gives and like most other Guerlain foundations I’ve used, I need to be a bit careful with application and apply light layers otherwise it can get cakey in some parts.

♥ Guerlain Meteorites in Clair – Quite possibly the best finishing powder. It leaves a very, very subtle glow. Also one tub of these pearl balls will last a lifetime. I’ve had mine (used regularly) for years and years and it’s still full.

♥ Chanel Blush in Fleur de Lotus – I think this is limited edition and came out in 2012. That’s how long I’ve had this. It’s a gorgeous swirl of coral, pink and rose and has a slight satin sheen. I pick up very little product with a Lunasol cheek brush and lightly fluff on my cheeks.

♥ Cezanne Eyeshadow Quad – I got this at the same time as the cheek stick, which I’ve featured before. It’s a lot more peachy in person (the lighting in the photo washes it out). The color payoff is typical of Japanese eyeshadows, i.e. not very pigmented, but I like is as a light wash on my eyes.

♥ Kate Tokyo Eyebrow Powder – I just purchased this after testing it at an event last week. This powder matches my eyebrows pretty well and is quite long-lasting. The lighter shades can be used to contour the nose I think.

♥ Peripera Cloud Ink Velvet – A pretty coral matte liquid lipstick. I like their lip products as I find them to be quite lightweight. But matte lipsticks can be drying so I sometimes top it off with gloss or a lipbalm.

♥ Hakuhodo, Shu Uemura and Laura Mercier brushes (various) – Just a few of my favorite eyebrushes along with a Shu Uemura curler to apply my eye makeup. I hardly use mascara because I don’t like dealing with the removal bit. So I’ll just curl my lashes to open my eyes a little and hope for the best.

    MOTD: Sulwhasoo Star Universe Event

I attended a Sulwhasoo event the other day and wore my current favorite cushion foundation by Sulwhasoo. Also took out a few old Lunasol favorites as I was feeling a little nostalgic after learning the brand has pulled out of Malaysia.

♥ Guerlain Meteorites Base – I asked a friend to get this for me at the Paris duty free because the selling price here is a little insane. I really like using this as a base. The effect is subtle and helps brighten my complexion a little. Performs well as a primer too.

♥ Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion – My fave cushion foundation at the moment. It has a natural finish and doesn’t really get cakey. I normally prefer a sheer/light coverage for my foundations so I don’t use as much product but this can be built up to a medium coverage.

♥ Lunasol Loose Powder – A fairly soft and fine powder but it doesn’t control oil very well though.

♥ Lunasol Cheek Blush – I used to travel with this a lot because it’s half blush, half highlight / finishing powder. So convenient!

♥ Lunasol Eyeshadow Quad – I was a little bummed to find out Lunasol pulled out of Malaysia so I was feeling a bit nostalgic and dug this out to use. Their eyeshadows are generally good for basic eye looks or beginners because the colors are pretty safe and neutral.

♥ Lunasol Eye and Cheek Brush – I seriously LOVE Lunasol brushes and have waxed lyrical about the powder brush in a previous post. They are soft yet dense yet fluffy.

♥ Hourglass Ambient Powder in Diffused Light – This gives such a lovely, subtle blurring effect and glow.

♥ Essence Cosmetics Eye Primer – A decent primer and has a slight brightening effect.

♥ Nars Concealer – Best concealer ever! Smooth and long lasting.

♥ Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in Amuse Bouche – Pretty pink, bright and glossy! I think the Rouge Coco Gloss is a reformulation of the old Glossimer.

What have you been wearing lately? Do drop in and share your thoughts. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of the products featured here today. Let me know in the comments. Have a good weekend!

MOTD: Quick Lunch and Grocery Run

Quite honestly, I didn’t use to wear any makeup when I’m going out for a quick bite or even to get groceries. But I’ve been enjoying getting back into a beauty routine that I’ll just pop on something light and simple for a regular day.

♦ Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Beauty Booster – I guess this was Guerlain’s take on BB cream. It provides medium coverage but can get a bit cakey if too much is applied. I use very little, barely a pump for my entire face and use my fingers to lightly tap/pat onto my skin. The coverage is pretty good.

♦ Cezanne Cheek Stick – This cutie makes another appearance this week because I don’t have many cream/gel blushes at the moment and have been enjoying this quite a bit. I love, love, love peachy, coral shades on my face and need to add more cream blush to my collection.

♦ Nars The Multiple in Copacabana – I forgot I had this and just rediscovered it a couple of nights ago. It’s a beautiful opalescent, champagne stick highlighter that can be used on the cheeks, eyes and lips. I rub a tiny bit onto my finger and dab on my cheekbones. I can be directly applied for a stronger effect.

♦ Shu Uemura Eyeshadow and Brush 6.0B – I’ve had this duo for ages. It’s my preferred way of filling in my brows. It’s quick and looks natural. I really like the brush too.

♦ Catrice Lip Treatment – A new drugstore discovery! It contains shea butter to soften and moisturise lips and is a pretty decent lipbalm / treatment. I also like using it at night and like how it sinks into my lips without leaving a sticky layer on top.

What are you wearing today? Do share if you have any daily must-haves and old or new favorites.

Beauty Quickie: Sunday Riley On A Wednesday

There are mornings when I just enjoy a Nespresso coffee with a dash of light makeup. It’s a simple lunch and stay-at-home kind of day.

♦ Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer – I normally use this as a tinted moisturiser on its own or topped with a powder or a light layer of cushion foundation. It works well as a primer and helps my makeup last longer too.

♦ Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre in Claire – I’ve had this HUGE tub for a really long time and it’s still going. It has a soft focus matte finish and helps reduce some shine. Believe it or not, I’ve decanted quite a bit out for a friend before but there’s still so much product left. It may be pricey but so worth it because one tub will probably last me a lifetime.

♦ Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy – My favorite Tarte blush! It’s coral-pink and looks so sweet. I use very little and just lightly tap on the apples of my cheeks because my face tends to get red naturally so I don’t want anything that will end up looking muddy. It’s moderately pigmented and blendable.

♦ Catrice Shine Lipgloss – This is an affordable drugstore gloss and I even got it on sale. This one has a slight pinky-brown tint but it’s quite nude and clear on my lips. I like using this on top of lipsticks too.

♦ Yojiya Blush Brush – I bought this brush a very long time ago when I first visited Kyoto. I love using it and the hairs are soft. It’s also good for travel because it’s relatively small and compact.

♦ Lunasol Powder Brush – My favorite powder brush of all time. I use it with everything… compact, loose, finishing, highlight powders, it works with all! The hairs are dense yet super soft. By the way, is Lunasol still available in Malaysia? I just found out Lunasol has pulled out of Malaysia and it’s sad because they’ve produced a few of my favorite eyeshadows and brushes in the past.

♦ Nespresso coffee with Aeroccino foamed milk – Both machines are pretty old but they still make a good cuppa.

How do you normally take your morning coffee? What new or old beauty favorites have you been enjoying lately?
